About Us

Science, in general, is a male dominated field with women making up only 28% of the workforce, and this is due to the fact that young girls aren’t encouraged to take up STEM related coursework in their school life as well as during their higher studies. Through workshops, activities, and sessions we aim to give them knowledge, exposure, support and insight in the field of STEM, and motivate them to pursue their passion. STEM enhances crucial skills such as problem solving, logical reasoning and creativity which will allow women to access a large range of careers, thus we feel that it is imperative that young girls are motivated to explore this field. Bridge The Gap provides them with a comfortable environment where they can do so, and also provides them with as many resources as possible. We wish to create a healthy environment where girls can discover the field of STEM through  conducting enthralling activities, interesting debates, and informative lectures with guest speakers.

Built by girls and for girls, Bridge the Gap aims to motivate and encourage more girls to be a part of STEM related professions, regretting the fact that not many are interested in the field. We wish for higher participation and to implement the same have held a coding workshop, N-Hack, limited to girls only. We plan to hold fundraisers, live zoom sessions with women working in the field as well as people with the same aims as ours, and workshops. We aim to close, or at the very least, shorten the disparity existing between the genders in the field of STEM believing that GIRLS CAN DO IT TOO! We  make the STEM field less daunting and more approachable so that students can discover their interests.
